Mr. Daniel K. Taylor
National Intelligence Officer for East Asia, DNI
Daniel Taylor currently serves as the National Intelligence Officer for East Asia on the National Intelligence Council in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. In this role he is the principal subject matter expert to the DNI and national security decision makers on all aspects of analysis related to East Asia.
Mr. Taylor is a career DIA officer. At DIA he most recently served as the Defense Intelligence Officer for East Asia. Before becoming DIO, he served as DIA’s Senior Defense Intelligence Analyst for China. He has held a variety of other positions in the Intelligence Community, primarily in analysis related to China and East Asia.
He previously served in the US Army, both in the Regular Army and the Army National Guard, as a field artilleryman.
Mr. Taylor earned a Master of Arts degree in Military History from American Military University, a Master of Science degree in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University, and an Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College.
